Features ⌛

  • Hinged Design 🔄: They often feature a hinged design, allowing for a smooth and consistent trigger pull. This design promotes stability and ease of use.
  • Integrated Safety Lever 🔒: They come with an integrated safety lever. This lever acts as an additional safety feature, helping to prevent accidental discharges and ensuring secure firearm handling.

FAQ ❓

What Are The Differences Between M&P and M&P 2.0 Trigger Upgrade?

✅ The differences between M&P and M&P 2.0 trigger upgrades can be found in the quality of the materials used as well as in the design of each part. The M&P trigger is made from a high-grade aluminum alloy, which provides increased durability and strength compared to standard plastic guard models. Additionally, this model features a more ergonomic design that offers better control over recoil during rapid-fire situations.

✅ On the other hand, the M&P 2.0 trigger upgrade comes with a billet steel construction for superior strength and durability. This model also has an improved curved design that allows for increased leverage when pulling back on the trigger. Furthermore, its smooth edges and larger surface area make it easier to handle without compromising accuracy or safety.

Are there any recalls or issues related to M&P triggers?

🔴 Most commonly, these issues include trigger pin breakage and disconnector failure. These malfunctions are not common, but it is important to be aware of them.

🔴 In 2017, Smith & Wesson issued a recall for the M&P 15-22 rifle due to potential trigger malfunctions. The issue was caused by improper heat treatment of the hammer and sear components that resulted in the parts wearing unevenly over time. This could lead to light primer strikes or even misfires. However, Smith & Wesson quickly resolved this issue and new replacement parts were sent out to affected customers free of charge.

🟢 Overall, the newer versions seem to be much more reliable than their predecessors with no known issues or recalls reported since then.

How much does an M&P trigger pull weigh?

The Smith & Wesson M&P trigger pull typically weighs in at around 5.5 pounds, which is considered to be a relatively light pull weight.

This makes it an ideal option for more experienced shooters who want a lighter and crisper trigger break without sacrificing accuracy. For those looking for an even lighter trigger pull, some M&P models are adjustable down to 2.5 pounds.

However, any adjustments should be made by a certified gunsmith or other qualified individual as incorrect adjustments can lead to less-than-ideal performance and may even void the warranty of the firearm.

What safety features are present in M&P triggers?

Safety features include an integrated trigger safety, a drop-safe design, and a disconnector that prevents accidental discharge.

  • 🧷 The integrated trigger safety is designed to prevent the gun from firing unless it is properly engaged by the shooter’s finger.
  • 🧷 The drop-safe design ensures that if the firearm is dropped or jarred, it will not fire unintentionally.
  • 🧷 The disconnector prevents the hammer from being released until after the trigger has been pulled fully to the rear for each shot.
Which is the better - M&P standard or M&P pro trigger?

The preference between the M&P standard trigger and the M&P Pro trigger largely depends on individual shooting preferences and intended use. Here are some points to consider:

M&P Standard Trigger:

  • 📌 The M&P standard trigger is the trigger that comes as a factory standard with M&P handguns.
  • 📌 It provides a consistent and reliable trigger pull.
  • 📌 Some shooters may find the standard trigger to be adequate for their needs, especially for general shooting purposes.

M&P Pro Trigger:

  • 📌 The M&P Pro trigger is a trigger upgrade option available for certain models, often found on M&P Pro Series handguns or Performance Center models.
  • 📌 The Pro trigger is typically designed for competitive shooting or those seeking a more refined trigger experience.
  • 📌 It may feature a lighter trigger pull, reduced pre-travel, and a shorter reset, allowing for faster and more precise shooting in competitive scenarios.
  • 📌 The Pro trigger is often favored by competitive shooters who prioritize speed, accuracy, and quick follow-up shots.

Conclusion

The M&P trigger is a critical component of Smith & Wesson M&P handguns, responsible for initiating the firing sequence. It can come in different configurations, offering various features such as adjustable weights, reduced pre-travel, and improved reset. These features contribute to improved shooting performance, customization options, and enhanced safety. The choice between different triggers depends on individual preferences, shooting needs, and intended use, allowing shooters to find the trigger that best suits their requirements. 🤩🛒

Hello. Is it possible to reduce the trigger pull on MP?

One way to reduce the trigger pull on your S&W M&P is to install a lighter trigger spring. This can be done relatively easily, and it’s a modification that most shooters will be able to do themselves. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it:

          1. 🌟 Remove the pistol grip from your M&P by unscrewing the screw at the bottom.

          2. 🌟 Locate the trigger spring, which is located inside the pistol grip.

          3. 🌟 Use a pair of pliers to remove the old trigger spring and replace it with the lighter spring.

          4. 🌟 Reattach the pistol grip and test out your new trigger spring.

Is it worth it to install a Apex flat trigger on my 2.0 4” , mostly used for target and home defense, heard so much about how much better they make the trigger action, thanks

Many people prefer Apex triggers. However, I prefer to keep my M&P stock triggers and instead upgrade the trigger pull by installing an Apex striker block and sear.

I have installed Apex DCAEKs, which includes sear, sear spring, striker block, and striker block springs, in my old M&P9 1.0 and two newer M&P9 2.0 pistols. I am pleased with the performance of all three pistols. I have not replaced the factory triggers as I am satisfied with them.

In my opinion, it’s worth investing in the flat faced apex trigger for both my 9mm and 45 M&P 2.0. While the stock triggers aren’t terrible, the upgraded trigger significantly improves the feel.
