1# Plusinno Telescopic Fishing Pole

PLUSINNO Telescopic Fishing Rod and Reel Combos Full Kit Carrier Bag Case Accessories

PLUSINNO Telescopic Fishing Rod and Reel Combos Full Kit is designed for comfortable fishing on the river, lake or in the salt waters of the sea. Buying this kit you get a case in which the telescopic fishing rod, reel, and case with a variety of gear are neatly packed. What really awaits you with this purchase? Portability is provided by a small case and if you want to place a folded fishing rod in it – you must definitely remove the reel. This takes time and leads to a lot of wear on the rod. In addition, the cat itself (Chinese-made) may not be of the best quality. These are not professional gear for catching big fish. This is a portable set for a relaxing holiday at the campsite, gear skills training, or a universal gift for any fishing enthusiast.

2# Eagle Claw Pack-It Spin Combo Telescopic Pole

Eagle Claw PK56TS Pack-It Spin Combo Telescopic Rod (1 Piece)

Eagle Claw 5’6 “telescopic fishing rod. Very lightweight (weighs 8.6 ounces) and compact, it folds well and can be easily stored in a backpack or under a car seat. Use this fishing rod for fishing perch or freshwater fishing. It can be a good choice for a novice fisherman or child from 8 years. As stated by the manufacturer, the fishing line that comes with the reel is for 4-10 pounds of fish. But according to customer reviews, a comfortable catch weight is no more than 5 feet. The weakest link in this fishing rod is the reel. It may fail first, after the first use or may come already broken. The Chinese manufacturer apparently forgot about quality control. Depending on your luck, the fishing rod can be disposable or serve for years. This spinning looks more like a toy from Disneyland. It is a pity that this particular model of this seller is more like a Chinese fake.

3# Okuma VS-605-20 Voyager Spinning Pole

Okuma VS-605-20 Voyager Spinning Travel Kit

Spinning Okuma VS-605-20 Voyager is equipped with a reel of 20 sizes and a 6-foot fishing rod (consists of 5 parts) in a compact case. A small container for gear is also included. It looks very nice, which can be a great gift for fishing enthusiasts. This is a very decent fishing kit for camping or storage in the trunk of your car. Ideal for streams, ponds, not large lakes or rivers. Easy and intuitive to build, it does not take much of your time. And now about the disadvantages of this spinning. First, the fishing line is not included, so do not count on the fact that you can immediately go fishing by buying this set. Also, the fishing line can be wound without the reel when fishing, which will spoil your nerves. The second weak point is the joints of the rods that fall out or break. The coil also does not quite behave adequately, but this is how lucky you are with the goods.

4# Sougayilang Fishing Rod Reel Combos Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Pole

Sougayilang Fishing Rod Reel Combos Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Pole

This simple set is created for good rest and successful fishing. A fully equipped carbon telescopic fishing rod weighs about 1 pound and is convenient enough for fishing on a lake or a small river. The most important part of this kit is the Sougayilang YB reel. A mechanism with 14 reliable bearings ensures durability and a smooth ride, and a carbon resistance system will keep the line from breaking under impulse tension. If desired, the handle can be rearranged for both right-handed and left-handed people. Among the shortcomings can be noted as terrible quality control! Every customer runs the risk of getting a fully disposable kit. At the first inspection in your living room, a telescopic mechanism can spell, and after catching 1 fish, the coil can fail. This is very unpleasant and can completely spoil the mood and rest. If you are willing to take a chance, then know – Sougayilang support is on your side. They will understand the situation and try to help by replacing the broken elements.

  • Fishing rod material: carbon fiber with fiberglass
  • Reel – (replaceable handle on the reel for right-handed and left-handed people)
  • Carbon resistance system for smooth braking with abrupt line tension
  • Line capacity: LBS / YDS 8/215 10/190 12/130
  • Easy to use and carry
  • Free service for 1 year!
  • Set: depends on the choice of the buyer
  • Excellent customer support
  • Convenient end cap for storing spare hooks and bait
  • Without carrier bag

5# PLUSINNO Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Pole

PLUSINNO Fishing Rod and Reel Combos Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Rod

PLUSINNO presented an offer that could not be missed not only by Amazon (put the label “Amazon Choice”) but also by us. This is the basic kit for fishing medium-sized fish (up to 10 pounds). It consists of a carbon rod (presented in 4 variants of 5.91 – 8.86 FT) and a sufficiently powerful and capacious HA 3000 reel. To make the kit come to life you will have to independently equip it with fishing line and gear. This fishing rod in capable hands is capable of much. But each hero has his own weaknesses. The main weakness of PLUSINNO remains poor quality control. Or Chinese manufacturers do not try to work well at all or the postal service exposes the parcels to the survival band, or Amazon sends the return as new goods. PLUSINNO customer service does the impossible and answers almost every objection and always tries to exchange goods if it fails (sometimes after the warranty period). Only through service is it worth trusting this company. And if you are interested in how good this fishing rod is, look at the photos in 5-star reviews. This catch is waiting for you – it remains to buy a fishing rod from PLUSINNO.

6# Sougayilang Telescopic Ultralight Fishing Pole

Sougayilang Telescopic Fishing Rod (24 Ton Carbon Fiber Ultralight Fishing Pole)

The seller has one rod but with different parameters, but we’ll talk about the telescopic rod Sougayilang -1.8M 5.91Ft. This is the smallest size, very light and compact, which allows you to take it with you wherever you travel. The fishing rod itself is made of high-density composite 24 Ton Carbon Fiber and E-glass, and the guides are stainless steel. Pretty good materials for this baby. Great for seawater, as there is corrosion protection. It may be good for fish weighing up to 5 pounds, although much more will depend on your fishing line and reel. Only a bag is included, but the reel and fishing line must be purchased separately. And it’s best to take the coil of the same company, this can be a good kit. The fishing rod is very easy to assemble and fold back, even a child can handle it. The product is generally good, but there is one drawback, fishing line guides are very poorly glued. They can easily come off at the slightest voltage, but with a stronger one they can simply burst. But the seller will always help with an exchange or refund. It may be a good choice for amateur fishing.

  • Amazon Choice
  • Fishing rods made of high-density composite 24-ton carbon fiber and E-glass

7# Eagle Claw PK555SP Pack-It Telescopic Spinning Pole

Eagle Claw PK555SP Pack-It Telescopic Spinning Rod, 5-Feet x 6-Inch

Some offer a large selection of kits, others promise superior quality. The claw of an eagle just does its job and offered a solid foundation for any experimentation at a very reasonable price. This rod does not have a kit from an expensive reel, a hiking bag or a set of gear – it’s just a spinning rod that you will love. When folded, it is 16 “and 1/4 – it can easily fit in a backpack or trunk of a car. When open, it is 63” – not bulky to catch from the shore / pier / boat. If you choose the right reel and fishing line and you know how to deal with fish correctly, the pole can withstand fish up to 10 pounds! The main thing is to use common sense and a net for raising fish from the water. Now about the shortcomings. The pole does not have a cover, starting reel and fishing line – all this must be purchased separately. The poor quality of Chinese production – offset by customer support and a 1-year warranty. This fishing rod is not a toy at all. The rod loves respect when opening and folding, but it is a real spinning for fishing during a hiking trip. Suitable for both the first experience and for quiet fishing for small and medium fish.

8# Daiwa Ultralight Spinning Pole (Hard Carry Case)

Daiwa Mini System Minispin Ultralight Spinning Reel and Rod Combo in Hard Carry Case

This is not a telescopic fishing rod. This is a 5-piece collapsible fishing rod for catching small fish. With good skill and minimal practice – you can drop the bait 20 yards away to the place you are aiming. And after successful fishing put all the gear in a T-shaped plastic case. The case is tough and sturdy enough to survive a quick pick-up ride on a dirt road, but we hope you don’t be so cruel to fishing equipment. This is a very compact fishing rod, but it has a character! Loves tenderness and confident power. You can feel it when you fold it the first time. The kit also has a reel made in Vietnam. Possible factory defect – easily fixed by replacement, the main thing is not to miss the time. Plastic box with separate cells for storing the rod, reel, bait, and other little things. For hiking, it can be cumbersome and inconvenient, but it does not matter for transportation in a car. This fishing rod is already out of production and if you really like it – order a few. These additional fishing rods can be disassembled to get parts for repair, and not rely on third-party services.

  • Five-piece 4.5-foot ultralight rod (for 2-6 lb fish)

  • Compact hard case with gear compartments
  • Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty
  • Amazon’s choice

10# BLISSWILL Fishing Pocket Telescopic Pole

BLISSWILL Fishing Gear Fishing Rod and Reel Combos Pocket Telescopic Rod

If you have not experienced mixed feelings for a long time, look at the 10 participants in our review. A pocket-sized telescopic fishing rod has a very original concept. On the one hand, this is maximum mobility, on the other – universality. This fishing rod is not distinguished by a stylish design or incredible lightness. It was created for the sole purpose of ensuring maximum mobility without loss of reliability. What did the developers do? The mechanism for turning and retrieving the sections of the rod turned out to be quite rigid, which was reflected in the weight -> 19 ounces. The cavity for storing gear is too small to put at least some set of gear there. In the fully folded state, the lever fixing the reel is pressed and this can unravel your entire fishing line. A small cover could protect the fishing line from tangling with other items of luggage – but it is not there, the manufacturer did not take care of it. If you like compact fishing rods, this might be a good choice. But you should know, 19 ounces is not the best weight for the hiking option.

Backpacking Fishing Pole vs Regular Fishing Rod

Based on the results of our research, the difference between a backpacking fishing pole and a regular fishing rod lies primarily in its design and intended use. 🔔 Here are some key distinctions:

  • ➡️ Portability:

🔹 A backpacking fishing pole is specifically designed to be lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry during outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or backpacking. It can often be disassembled into several smaller sections to fit conveniently into a backpack or travel case.

🔸 In contrast, a regular fishing rod is typically longer and less portable, as it is designed for more stationary use near shorelines, lakes, or boats.

  • ➡️ Size and Length:

🔹 Fishing poles are generally shorter in length compared to regular fishing rods. They usually range from 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 meters) when fully assembled. The shorter length allows for easier transportation and maneuverability in tight spaces.

🔸 Fishing rods, on the other hand, can vary significantly in length depending on the fishing technique and target species. They can range from 5 to 12 feet (1.5 to 3.7 meters) or even longer.

  • ➡️ Material and Construction:

🔹 Fishing poles are often constructed with lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, or composite blends. These materials help reduce the overall weight of the pole without compromising its strength and durability.

🔸 Fishing rods, depending on their purpose, can be made from a variety of materials, including graphite, fiberglass, or a combination of both. They are designed to handle the specific demands of different fishing techniques and provide the necessary strength and flexibility.

  • ➡️ Fishing Technique:

🔹 Backpacking poles are generally designed for light to medium fishing applications. They are suitable for smaller fish species and can handle a range of fishing techniques like spin casting, bait casting, or fly fishing.

🔸 Regular rods, on the other hand, come in a wide range of designs tailored to specific fishing techniques such as spinning, casting, trolling, or fly fishing. They offer greater versatility and specialized features to enhance the fishing experience for various types of fish and environments.

  • ➡️ Features and Accessories:

🔹 Due to their portable nature, the poles often come with fewer features and accessories compared to regular fishing rods. They usually have simpler reel seats, smaller guides, and fewer additional components.

🔸 The rods may have more advanced features like adjustable handles, specialized reel seats, multiple guide types, and a wider selection of accessories to cater to specific fishing techniques and preferences.

🔔 Ultimately, the choice between these two depends on your fishing needs and the intended use. If you prioritize portability, compactness, and lightweight design for outdoor activities, a backpacking fishing pole would be more suitable. However, if you primarily fish in more stationary settings and require specialized features for specific fishing techniques, a regular fishing rod would be a better choice.

🎥 Watch the video to see the performance of both:

Can I travel with my fishing pole?
☑️ Yes, you can travel with your fishing pole. 📢 However, our experts explored and figured out that there may be certain regulations and restrictions you need to be aware of depending on your mode of transportation and your destination.

  • ✈️ When traveling by air, fishing poles are typically allowed as checked baggage or carry-on items, but check with your airline for their specific policies. Some airlines may require you to pack the fishing pole securely in a protective case to prevent any damage.
  • 🚗 If you’re traveling by car, you have more flexibility as you can usually transport your fishing pole in the trunk or backseat without any issues. Just make sure it’s properly secured to avoid any damage or accidents during the journey.
  • 🚧 When traveling internationally, it’s crucial to research the regulations and requirements of your destination country. Some countries have restrictions on importing fishing equipment or specific rules regarding the transport of fishing poles. It’s recommended to contact the embassy or consulate of the country you’re visiting for up-to-date information on any restrictions or permits you may need.
  • ⚠️ Lastly, always consider the local fishing regulations and obtain any necessary fishing licenses or permits for the area you plan to fish in. Fishing regulations can vary from one location to another, so familiarize yourself with the local rules to ensure you’re fishing legally and responsibly.

🔔 In summary, you can generally travel with your fishing pole, but it’s crucial to check the specific regulations of your chosen mode of transportation and your destination to ensure compliance and avoid any issues during your journey.

How do you pack a fishing pole?
Packing a fishing pole can be a relatively straightforward process. 👣 We outlined some general steps to follow:

  • 🔰 Gather the necessary supplies: You’ll need a fishing rod case or a suitable container to protect the fishing pole during transportation. Additionally, gather any accessories, such as reels, hooks, and lures, that you plan to pack with the rod.
  • 🔰 Prepare the fishing pole: Remove any accessories or attachments from the fishing pole, such as the reel, line, or hooks. Make sure the rod is clean and dry before packing it.
  • 🔰 Collapse or disassemble the fishing rod: Most fishing rods are designed to be collapsible or disassembled into several sections for easier transport. Follow the instructions specific to your fishing pole model to collapse or disassemble it. Pay attention to any locking mechanisms or connectors that hold the sections together.
  • 🔰 Secure the sections: Once the rod is collapsed or disassembled, use rubber bands or Velcro straps to secure the rod sections together. This prevents them from shifting or getting tangled during transit.
  • 🔰 Protect the rod: Wrap the fishing rod or place it in a suitable rod case to protect it from scratches, dings, or other damage. If using a rod case, ensure it provides sufficient padding and protection.
  • 🔰 Pack accessories: If you have accessories like reels, hooks, or lures, place them in a separate compartment within the rod case or pack them separately in a tackle box or bag. This helps prevent damage to the rod and keeps everything organized.
  • 🔰 Double-check everything: Before closing the rod case or finalizing the packing, double-check that all sections of the rod are securely fastened, the accessories are properly stored, and nothing is loose or likely to cause damage during transit.
  • 🔰 Transporting the fishing pole: Depending on your travel plans, you can place the fishing rod case in a suitcase, or duffel bag, or carry it separately. Ensure it fits comfortably and is not subjected to excessive pressure or weight that could potentially damage the rod.

⚠️ Remember to comply with any airline or transportation regulations regarding the transport of fishing equipment if you are traveling by air or public transportation. It’s always a good idea to check the specific guidelines beforehand to avoid any surprises or issues.

✅ By following these steps, you should be able to pack your fishing pole securely and ensure it remains protected during transportation to your desired fishing location.

What are the types of backpacking fishing poles?
When it comes to backpacking poles, several types are designed to be lightweight, compact, and easily portable. 📝Here are some common types:

  • ➡️ Telescopic Fishing Poles: These poles are made up of multiple sections that collapse into each other, similar to a telescope. They can be extended to their full length when in use and then collapsed down for easy storage and transportation.
  • ➡️ Pack Rods: Pack rods are specifically designed for backpacking and come in compact sizes. They usually consist of several sections that can be disassembled and stored in a compact case or pouch. Pack rods often use ferrules or spigot joints to connect the sections.
  • ➡️ Pocket Fishing Rods: These are extremely compact fishing poles that can be folded down to fit in your pocket or a small case. Pocket rods are usually shorter in length and have multiple segments that fold or collapse into each other.
  • ➡️ Pen Fishing Rods: Pen fishing rods are the smallest and most portable option. They are designed to resemble a pen when collapsed and can easily fit into your pocket. When extended, they provide a functional fishing rod for small game fishing.
  • ➡️ Collapsible Fishing Poles: These poles are similar to telescopic fishing poles but often have a different design. They consist of multiple sections that collapse into each other, usually with a push-button or twist-lock mechanism. Collapsible poles are lightweight and easy to assemble and disassemble.
How to String a Fishing Pole?
📢 Stringing a fishing pole typically involves attaching the fishing line to the reel, threading it through the rod guides, and securing it to the fishing pole. 🔐 Based on our knowledge and experience, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to string a fishing pole:

  • 1️⃣ Gather the necessary equipment: You’ll need a fishing pole, fishing line, and a pair of scissors or clippers.
  • 2️⃣ Choose the right fishing line: Select a fishing line that is suitable for the type of fishing you plan to do. Consider the line’s weight rating (pound test) and the type of fishing line (monofilament, fluorocarbon, or braided).
  • 3️⃣ Prepare the reel: Open the bail (metal arm) on the fishing reel. This will allow the line to be threaded through the reel.
  • 4️⃣ Attach the line to the reel: Tie the fishing line to the reel by using an arbor knot. To tie an arbor knot, make a simple overhand knot around the reel’s spool. Then, make another overhand knot using the loose end of the line. Tighten the knots securely.
  • 5️⃣ Begin spooling the line onto the reel: Hold the fishing line spool in a way that allows it to rotate freely. Apply gentle pressure on the line to prevent it from tangling. Rotate the fishing reel’s handle to spool the line onto the reel. Make sure the line is winding onto the reel evenly.
  • 6️⃣ Thread the line through the rod guides: Starting at the tip of the fishing rod, insert the fishing line into the first-rod guide closest to the reel. Continue threading the line through each guide, working your way toward the tip of the rod. Be careful to route the line through the center of each guide, ensuring it doesn’t loop around any of the rod guides.
  • 7️⃣ Secure the line: Once you have threaded the line through all the rod guides, leave about 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) of line extending beyond the tip of the rod. This extra line will allow you to tie on hooks, lures, or other terminal tackle.
  • 8️⃣ Trim the excess line: Use scissors or clippers to cut off any excess fishing line from the reel.
Congratulations! You have successfully strung your fishing pole. Remember to test the line tension and make any necessary adjustments before heading out for your fishing adventure. Happy fishing!

I recently acquired a compact rod for my car to create a mini fishing setup, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed with the quality of the Daiwa Ultralight pole. It performed flawlessly when I landed a smallmouth bass weighing around 2 pounds. However, I have some reservations about the reel. Its durability remains to be seen, and I’m uncertain about its longevity. Nevertheless, I’ve loaded it with approximately 200 meters of 6-pound fluorocarbon line, and it has been working without any issues so far.
The rod’s packaging is quite convenient and can be repurposed to store other fishing tackle if needed. Although it didn’t suit my specific requirements, I opted to store the rod in a 2-inch diameter tube that I securely strap to the side of my tackle bag along with my other gear and landing net.

I had an amazing fishing experience using my Plusinno fishing pole and managed to catch a massive Freshwater Drum! The product exceeded my expectations with its exceptional quality. Every component worked flawlessly, especially the strong and durable fishing line that held up even against the weight of the big fish I caught.
The only slight inconvenience I encountered was that I had to adjust the compressed rod a bit to make it fit properly in the case. However, with a little bit of fidgeting, I managed to get everything back in place without any major issues. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with it.

I recently had to replace my older Sougayilang rod after using it for a couple of years. The tip broke, and I take responsibility for that. However, I was pleased to find a newer version of the same rod that seems to have some notable improvements. In this review, I’ll be focusing on the smallest size available, which I believe is 1.8m.
Firstly, the new rod has undergone some upgrades. While the old 1.8m rod had four eyes, the new one boasts five, which is definitely a step up. Additionally, the handle feels better in my hand as it’s slightly larger and more comfortable to grip. When extended, the rod is only about three inches longer than its predecessor, so the difference isn’t significant, but it’s worth mentioning.
The main advantage of this rod lies in its excellent portability for hiking. It collapses down quickly and easily, allowing for convenient transport. Whether I’m holding it while hiking or stowing it in my backpack, it doesn’t protrude and get caught on things, which is fantastic. Overall, it’s an impressive rod, and I highly recommend it, especially for those who enjoy hiking.

The Okuma VS-605-20 Spinning Poles are excellent choices for backpacking trips or casual outings to the river when you prefer to avoid the inconvenience of a bulky fishing rod in your vehicle. I have personally had great success using these rods, catching numerous 2-4 lb brook and rainbow trout, as well as plenty of walleye. Surprisingly, I have even landed some sizable pike and 6-8 lb salmon, including a remarkable 13.5 lb salmon in a fast-flowing river this year.
The versatility of this rod is remarkable, provided you steer clear of the challenges posed by the great lakes. To make the most of it, I recommend pairing it with a reel loaded with 6-8 lb line. The reel itself is of decent quality and has proven to be quite durable, lasting around two years even with my frequent fishing expeditions. For those who fish less frequently, it can easily endure much longer. These rod and reel combos are not only highly effective but also surprisingly affordable. I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of this underrated gear set. If you’re in the market, I strongly encourage you to give it serious consideration.

Over the course of my recent 7-day outing, I had the pleasure of landing nearly 100 cutthroat trout using it. I must say, its performance was truly outstanding. Not once did it come apart or give me any cause for concern. Equipped with light line, even the smaller trout provided an exhilarating fight, with the reel smoothly releasing line as they battled. The cork handles, while initially giving a slight impression of being inexpensive, quickly won me over. After handling numerous fish, including a couple of 2-3 lb trout, I have developed a genuine fondness for this new setup. Without hesitation, I would eagerly purchase another one if the need arose.

Can I use any fishing reel with a backpacking fishing pole?

☑️ Yes, in most cases, you can use any fishing reel with a backpacking fishing pole, as long as the reel is compatible with the rod’s specifications.

📢 The compatibility between a fishing reel and a backpacking fishing pole primarily depends on the reel seat or reel attachment mechanism on the rod. Most fishing reels have a standard reel seat that accommodates various reel types, such as spinning reels, baitcasting reels, or fly reels. As long as the reel seat on your backpacking fishing pole is designed to accommodate the specific type of reel you want to use, you should be able to attach it without any issues.

🔔 It’s worth noting that backpacking fishing poles are generally designed for lighter fishing applications due to their compact and lightweight nature. Therefore, it’s recommended to use a reel that is suitable for the fishing conditions you expect to encounter while backpacking.
1️⃣ For instance, if you plan to fish for smaller species or engage in ultralight fishing, a smaller spinning reel would be a suitable choice.
2️⃣ However, if you anticipate larger fish or heavier fishing techniques, you might want to consider a more robust reel that matches those requirements.

When I placed my order for the Sougayilang pole, I didn’t have high expectations for its quality. I intended to use it as a convenient rod to keep in my backpack, take along on camping trips, and have in the truck. However, after using it multiple times, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised and impressed. The rod is remarkably lightweight, and it appears to be holding up well. I’m really glad I made this purchase.

I decided to invest a little more in purchasing a telescopic fishing rod, hoping to get a higher-quality product compared to the cheaper options available. To my pleasant surprise, the Plusinno pole exceeded my expectations. I opted for the 7-foot version and was unsure about its action, as I had seen telescopic rods that were either too flexible or too rigid. However, this one turned out to be just perfect. It possesses a medium action, allowing me to cast artificial worms effortlessly. I paired it with a Shimano 2000 series reel and 8-pound test line, resulting in smooth and accurate casts. Over the course of two consecutive days, I had the opportunity to catch over a dozen bass with this rod, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. Despite initially purchasing it for the convenience of portability in my hiking backpack or leaving it in the truck for spontaneous fishing outings, I now find myself favoring it over my other one-piece rods. It’s amazing how this telescopic rod has surpassed my expectations.

My husband absolutely adored it! This particular brand came highly recommended by our friends in the trucking industry, who have been using these poles for years with high expectations and zero issues.

I was in need of a compact travel rod, so I decided to purchase this one based on the positive reviews and this article. I’m extremely glad that I made that decision. This bait caster is fantastic – it’s lightweight, well-made, and offers excellent value for the price. I’ve had some great fishing experiences with it and it has quickly become my preferred bass rod.
