Overwatch Precision Tactical Trigger
Crafted in the USA, each trigger shoe and trigger safety tab is meticulously machined from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy for exceptional durability. These components are then securely attached to an NP3 plated, Gen 3 OEM trigger bar using 316 stainless steel coiled spring pins. To meet stringent standards, both the trigger shoe and safety tab undergo Type III hard coat anodization according to the MIL-A-8625 standard. Designed with Precision and ergonomics in mind, this trigger offers several key features. Its small indexing hook ensures consistent trigger finger placement, promoting improved accuracy. The broad, flat face of the trigger allows for a self-correcting, straight rearward press, resulting in a smooth and controlled trigger pull. Additionally, the flat face reduces trigger reach by 0.24 inch, making it an excellent option for shooters with smaller statures.

Benefits of Overwatch Precision trigger

Overwatch Precision vs Apex Glock Trigger📢

The Overwatch Precision vs Apex Glock Trigger debate has been going on for years, and it can be difficult to choose which trigger is right for you. Both triggers have their advantages and drawbacks, so deciding which one is best for carry can be a tough choice.

  • 🟣 To start, the Overwatch Precision trigger boasts an exceptionally light pull weight of only 3.5 lbs. This makes it great for quick follow-up shots, as you don’t have to wait too long between trigger pulls. Additionally, it’s constructed from a high-grade aluminum alloy that ensures durability and longevity even after intense use.
  • 🟣 On the other hand, the Apex Glock trigger has a few unique advantages over the Overwatch trigger. First of all, its more robust design means that it won’t wear out or break down as quickly as other triggers on the market. The Apex Glock also has a slightly heavier 4 lb pull weight compared to the Overwatch Precision’s 3.5 lbs, making it well-suited for more deliberate shooting styles.

➡️ Ultimately though, there is no clear answer as to which is better – the decision comes down to personal preference and what kind of shooter you are.

  • 🧩 If you’re searching for something lightweight and reliable that will perform accurately shot after shot without breaking down, then look into an Overwatch trigger.
  • 🧩 If you prefer something with a heavier pull weight that provides more control over your shots then an Apex Glock may be what you need.

⚙️How to install it?⚙️

Installing an Overwatch Precision trigger is a relatively straightforward process that requires very few tools. Before beginning, it’s important to double-check the compatibility of your firearm and the trigger to make sure they are compatible.

  • 🪛 First, you will need to disassemble your firearm according to its manufacturer’s instructions. This will involve removing all external components such as the barrel, magazine well, and other parts according to the instructions in the owner’s manual. Once all external components have been removed from the frame, you can begin installing the trigger.
  • 🪛 The first step is to remove any pins or screws that may be holding your factory trigger group in place. The exact configuration can vary depending on your specific model of firearm, but most follow a similar pattern and can usually be easily located by searching online for directions specific to your gun. Once these pins or screws have been removed, it’s possible to move on to the next step.
  • 🪛 Now you will need to carefully remove the factory trigger group from your firearm frame and attach the new trigger in its place. Make sure that each component of the trigger is properly aligned with its corresponding part on the frame before tightening down any screws or pins. It’s important not to overtighten any of these fasteners as doing so may damage or misalign parts of your new trigger system which could affect its performance.
  • 🪛 Once everything has been securely fastened into place, you can reassemble your firearm in reverse order following all safety precautions recommended by its manufacturer before testing out your new trigger!

FAQ🤠

What is a TAC trigger?

🤓 A TAC trigger, also known as a TAC (Tactical) trigger, refers to a specific type of trigger designed for firearms. While the term “TAC trigger” is not standardized or universally recognized, it is commonly used to describe a trigger that has certain characteristics intended to enhance tactical shooting performance. The features and design elements:

  • 🔵 Flat or Curved Trigger Shoe: A TAC trigger may have a flat-faced or curved trigger shoe, providing a different surface area for the shooter’s finger to engage with. The choice between a flat or curved trigger shoe is often a matter of personal preference.
  • 🔵 Enhanced Trigger Pull: TAC triggers are typically designed to provide a crisper, lighter, or smoother trigger pull compared to a standard factory trigger. This can contribute to improved accuracy and better control during rapid or precision shooting.
  • 🔵 Reduced Pre-Travel and Overtravel: TAC triggers may have reduced pre-travel (the distance the trigger moves before engaging) and overtravel (the distance the trigger moves after the break). These features help minimize unnecessary trigger movement, resulting in faster and more precise shot placement.
  • 🔵 Drop-In Installation: Many TAC triggers are designed to be easily installed as a drop-in replacement for the factory trigger. This means they can be installed without the need for extensive gunsmithing or modifications to the firearm.
  • 🔵 Material and Coating: TAC triggers are often constructed from durable materials, such as aluminum or steel, to ensure reliability and longevity. Some TAC triggers may also have specialized coatings or finishes to enhance corrosion resistance or provide a smoother trigger operation.
Are Overwatch Precision triggers safe?

✔️ Overwatch Precision is a well-regarded manufacturer of firearm triggers, known for their attention to quality and safety. They undergo rigorous testing and adhere to industry standards to ensure reliable and safe operation.

  • 💥 It’s important to note that safe firearm handling practices should always be followed regardless of the trigger system installed. This includes keeping the firearm pointed in a safe direction, finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and treating every firearm as if it is loaded.
  • 💥 When considering any trigger modification or upgrade, it’s essential to ensure proper installation and function. Following the manufacturer’s guidelines and recommendations, as well as seeking professional assistance if needed, can help ensure the safe and proper operation of the trigger.
What is the difference between Overwatch Precision Poly DAT and TAC triggers?

➡️ The Overwatch Precision Poly DAT (Polymer DAT) and TAC (Tactical) triggers are two different trigger options offered by Overwatch Precision. Here are the key differences between the two:

  • 🛟 Material: The most notable difference between the two triggers is the material used for their construction. The Poly DAT trigger is made of polymer, while the TAC trigger is typically made of aluminum. The choice of material can affect factors such as weight, durability, and feel of the trigger.
  • 🛟 Trigger Shoe Design: The trigger shoe design also differs between the Poly DAT and TAC triggers. The Poly DAT trigger features a flat-faced shoe design, which provides a different surface area for the shooter’s finger to engage with. On the other hand, the TAC trigger may have either a flat or curved shoe design, depending on the specific model.
  • 🛟 Pre-Travel and Overtravel Adjustment: Both triggers offer the option for pre-travel and overtravel adjustment, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the trigger pull characteristics to their preference. This feature enables customization to achieve a desired trigger feel and potentially enhance shooting performance.
  • 🛟 Aesthetics: The appearance of the triggers may differ due to the contrasting materials used. The polymer construction of the Poly DAT trigger can provide a distinct look, while the aluminum construction of the TAC trigger may have a more traditional or metallic appearance.
Do triggers improve accuracy?

❗ Triggers can play a role in improving accuracy, but it’s important to understand that they are just one factor among many that contribute to accurate shooting.

✳️ Here are a few ways in which triggers can potentially impact accuracy:

  • 🔰 Consistency: A high-quality trigger with a smooth and consistent pull can help the shooter achieve a more consistent and predictable trigger break. This can contribute to improved shot-to-shot consistency and ultimately enhance accuracy.
  • 🔰 Trigger Control: A good trigger allows the shooter to maintain better control over the firearm during the trigger pull. This can help minimize unintended movement or jerking of the firearm, which can negatively impact accuracy. A crisp and clean trigger break can facilitate better trigger control.
  • 🔰 Pre-Travel and Overtravel: Some triggers offer adjustable pre-travel (the distance the trigger moves before engaging) and overtravel (the distance the trigger moves after the break). Adjusting these parameters to the shooter’s preference can help optimize the trigger pull and potentially improve accuracy by reducing unnecessary trigger movement.
  • 🔰 Reset: The reset of a trigger refers to the distance the trigger must travel forward after the break before it can be reset and fired again. A short and tactile reset can aid in faster follow-up shots and help maintain better accuracy during rapid-fire scenarios.
How important is a good trigger?

🤓 A good trigger is highly important for several reasons:

  • 🔷 Safety: A good trigger is designed to enhance safety by minimizing the risk of accidental discharges. It should have a consistent and predictable pull that requires intentional action to fire the firearm. This helps prevent unintended discharges and promotes the safe handling of the firearm.
  • 🔷 Control and Accuracy: A quality trigger allows the shooter to maintain better control over the firearm during the trigger pull. It helps minimize trigger jerks or flinching, which can negatively impact accuracy. A smooth and consistent trigger pull aids in achieving better shot placement and overall accuracy.
  • 🔷 Trigger Management: A good trigger enables the shooter to effectively manage the trigger reset and follow-up shots. A short, tactile reset allows for faster and more controlled follow-up shots, which can be crucial in situations that require multiple shots or rapid-fire scenarios.
  • 🔷 Shooting Comfort: A comfortable trigger with a smooth pull contributes to shooting comfort and reduces fatigue during extended shooting sessions. It promotes a positive shooting experience and allows the shooter to focus more on the target and fundamentals of shooting.
  • 🔷 Customization: Many aftermarket triggers offer adjustable features such as pre-travel, overtravel, and trigger pull weight, allowing shooters to customize the trigger to their preferences. This customization can further enhance shooting comfort and performance.

I recently order the trigger. I took my Glock out to the range and fired around 300-400 rounds with it. To my disappointment, I ended up with blisters on my hand. That’s when I decided to purchase this trigger made by Overwatch Precision. Now I’m curious to hear what others have to say about it. Have any of you had positive or negative experiences with these triggers?

I installed the Overwatch Precision Polymer DAT Trigger, minus the connector, and safety plunger in my Glock 48, and I must say it improved the trigger. The break feels much cleaner, and there’s significantly less pre-travel. Overall, I’m quite happy with the upgrade.

I typically apply grip tape to my trigger finger before every shooting session. It helps me maintain a secure and consistent grip on the trigger, especially during rapid or prolonged firing. I use Overwatch Precision TAC Trigger For Glock Gen 5.

I have installed Overwatch Precision Falx Trigger For Glock on both my Glock 26 and Glock 30, and they have been incredibly reliable. While they may not reduce the take-up or pull weight like some other triggers, they do provide a smoother take-up, followed by a distinct and crisp break with a positive reset. I’ve put around 600 rounds through each gun with no issues so far. Overall, I highly recommend this trigger!

By installing an Overwatch Precision TAC Glock Trigger in the gun without any other modifications, I’ve noticed some improvements. There seems to be a reduction in pre-travel (takeup) and overtravel after the break. However, I haven’t noticed a significant change in the pull weight, at least not something that can be objectively measured with a trigger pull gauge.
