FAQ 🤔

Are Geissele Triggers drop-in triggers?
Yes, they are commonly referred to as drop-in triggers. Geissele Automatics is a reputable manufacturer known for producing high-quality triggers for firearms. Their drop-in triggers are designed to be easily installed without requiring any modification to the firearm’s receiver or trigger housing. This makes it convenient for users to upgrade the trigger in their firearms without extensive gunsmithing work.

⚠️ However, we always recommend carefully following the manufacturer’s instructions and ensuring compatibility with your specific firearm model before installing any aftermarket trigger.

How to maintain a Geissele trigger?
📢 Geissele triggers are known for their high quality and durability, but like any mechanical component, they require regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance. 📝 Based on our experience, here are some general guidelines for maintaining:

  • 🔸 Read the manufacturer’s instructions: Familiarize yourself with the specific maintenance recommendations provided by Geissele Automatics. These instructions may vary depending on the specific model of the trigger you have.
  • 🔸 Keep it clean: Regularly clean your trigger to remove dirt, debris, and residue that can accumulate over time. Use a soft brush or cotton swabs to clean the trigger components, paying particular attention to the sear surfaces and the hammer. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents that could damage the trigger.
  • 🔸 Lubrication: Apply a small amount of high-quality firearm lubricant to the trigger components. This helps reduce friction and ensures smooth operation. Use lubricants specifically designed for firearms, and avoid excessive amounts that can attract dirt and cause malfunctions.
  • 🔸 Function check: Periodically perform a function check to ensure the trigger is working properly. Check for consistent and reliable trigger pull, reset, and hammer release. If you notice any irregularities or malfunctions, discontinue use and consult with Geissele or a qualified gunsmith.
  • 🔸 Avoid modification: While Geissele triggers can be customized to some extent, it’s generally recommended to avoid modifying the trigger beyond the manufacturer’s specifications. Unauthorized modifications can compromise safety and reliability.
  • 🔸 Store properly: When not in use, store your firearm with the trigger in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and excessive temperature fluctuations. Consider using a gun safe or a secure case to protect your firearm and trigger from potential damage.
How to identify a Geissele trigger?
💡 We can highlight some methods you can use to identify a Geissele trigger:

  • ☑️ Check for distinctive features: They often have distinct design elements that set them apart from other triggers. These can include unique shapes, patterns, or extra components like adjustable set screws or anti-walk pins. Familiarize yourself with the specific features to aid in identification.
  • ☑️ Compare with reference images: If you have access to reference images or photographs of these triggers, compare them to the trigger you’re trying to identify. Look for similarities in design, shape, markings, and any other distinctive features that may match those of Geissele triggers.

The Geissele SSF trigger is an exceptional choice. Its tooling quality is unparalleled, and installation is straightforward. With a clean break and crisp reset, it provides a superb shooting experience. The trigger pull is exceptionally smooth, and it is slightly lighter compared to the standard mil-spec trigger it replaces. While the price may be higher, if you own a select fire lower, there’s simply no superior option in terms of reliability and quality.

I purchased the Geissele SSA trigger in June 2021 and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. Coming from a mil-spec trigger, the difference is astounding. The two-stage design of the Geissele trigger greatly enhances my ability to achieve accurate shots. While a mil-spec trigger may have its merits for those seeking a heavier pull, the Geissele trigger’s lighter weight requires careful training and familiarity to ensure safe handling. Overall, I highly recommend investing in this trigger as it delivers a significant improvement and leaves no room for regret.

Undoubtedly, the Geissele SSA trigger stands out as the finest duty-style trigger available. Its impeccable performance is characterized by a smooth and effortless first stage take-up, followed by a distinct and crisp break in the second stage. Notably, it boasts zero overtravel, ensuring optimal control. Admittedly, the only drawback is its price, but if you manage to find it on sale, the investment becomes more reasonable. In my experience, it is unquestionably the superior choice for an AR trigger, so much so that I have purchased another one for a separate build, along with an SSA-e variant specifically for my SPR configuration.

I recently upgraded the standard mil-spec trigger in my Colt M4, and I must say, the Geissele SSA trigger is exactly what I was looking for. It strikes a perfect balance for a carry/defense gun, providing a clean, crisp, and responsive feel without being overly sensitive. With a weight of 4.5 lbs as advertised, it offers the right amount of lightness for accurate bench shooting. The two-stage trigger design feels familiar to me, having carried Glocks for the past 30 years. This familiarity is a definite advantage when shooting from a bench. I never used to give much consideration to the triggers on my patrol rifles, but now I can’t imagine going back to a mil-spec trigger. The Geissele SSA trigger is, in my opinion, the perfect all-around trigger and worth the investment.

After trying out multiple lower-budget spring kits and acquiring punches and honing stones, I have finally experienced the sensation of a truly exceptional operating Geissele trigger. Through careful adjustments, I managed to fine-tune my mil-spec parts to achieve the desired feel. However, the crucial aspect here is the trigger’s “operating” capability. When using lighter springs in standard parts, there is always a risk of encountering light primer strikes. Similarly, attempting to limit pre-travel with set screws can result in unsafe sear re-engagement. Fortunately, the Geissele trigger has effectively addressed all these issues. It not only operates flawlessly as intended but also delivers an impressive feel and reset

If you own a SCAR 17, the Geissele Super SCAR trigger is an absolute game-changer! It’s astonishing how much it enhances my shooting abilities with my SCAR. This upgrade should be your top priority, no questions asked. The two-stage sensation of this trigger is unparalleled compared to the lackluster stock MILSPEC trigger (which you should discard without hesitation).

Initially, I had doubts about the Geissele Super SCAR trigger since I considered the factory trigger to be adequate. Plus, I was apprehensive about the cost involved. However, I now realize that I should have invested in it years ago because it’s leaps and bounds ahead. The improvement is remarkable in terms of control and precision.
