Best P365 Trigger Upgrade

What is the P365 trigger?🧐

It is one of the most popular modifications available for SIG Sauer’s P365 pistol. The trigger is designed to improve the trigger pull, resulting in a smoother, more consistent, and reliable shooting experience. It also reduces pre-travel — the distance between when you first start pulling the trigger before it breaks.

Features💣

The Sig Sauer P365 has become one of the most popular concealed carry handguns due to its small size, good accuracy, and lightweight design. The trigger system however can be improved with an upgrade.

  • 💥 First, the trigger weight is important as it determines how light or heavy you want the pull to feel. Many aftermarket triggers come with adjustable weights which allow you to customize the pull weight to your preference.
  • 💥 Another feature is trigger pre-travel and over-travel. Pre-travel means the distance the trigger must travel before it can fire. Overtravel is the distance the trigger continues to travel after firing. An adjustable pre-travel and over-travel will allow you to customize your trigger pull further for greater accuracy and precision while shooting.
  • 💥 Finally, many triggers come with a flat or curved housing design which can offer a more comfortable grip on your P365. A flat design offers more stability while a curved design gives you a better tactile feel.

How to swap the trigger?🧑‍🔧

Swapping out the trigger of your P365 is a relatively straightforward process that can be completed in a few steps.

  • ➡️ First, remove the slide from the frame. This is done by removing the takedown pin and then sliding the slide forward off of the frame. Once you have access to the internals of your gun, locate the trigger bar release lever, which should be located on the left side of the frame. Use a small screwdriver to depress the lever and then remove the factory trigger assembly from your gun.
  • ➡️ Next, identify and locate all of the components that make up your new trigger. This will usually include a new trigger bar, sear, spring, pin set, and drop safety. Make sure that all of the components are present and in good working order before proceeding.
  • ➡️ Once you have assembled the new trigger, slide it into the frame and secure it with the pin set. After this is done, test your new trigger by cycling the firing mechanism a few times to make sure that everything is working properly. If everything checks out, you should be ready to go!
  • ➡️ Finally, reassemble your gun and take it out for some live fire testing. This will give you an opportunity to get used to the feel of your upgraded trigger and ensure that it performs as expected. With proper care and maintenance, your trigger should last for many years of reliable shooting.

FAQ😎

Can you install a flat trigger on P365?

😉 Yes, it is possible to install a flat trigger on a Sig Sauer P365.

  • ✅ Installing a flat trigger on your P365 can offer benefits such as a different ergonomic grip, potentially enhancing comfort and trigger control.
  • ✅ It’s important to note that when installing aftermarket triggers or making modifications to your firearm, you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and consider consulting with a qualified gunsmith if you’re unsure about the installation process.

❗ When selecting an aftermarket flat trigger for your P365, ensure that it is specifically designed for the P365 model to ensure proper fit and function.

How many lbs does a P365 trigger pull?

⚡ The trigger pulls the weight of a Sig Sauer P365 can vary depending on the specific model and any modifications that may have been made.

  • ✍️ However, as a general guideline, the standard trigger pull weight for a stock Sig Sauer P365 is typically around 5.5 to 6.5 pounds.

📌 It’s important to note that the trigger pull weight can be influenced by factors such as the specific variant of the P365 (e.g., standard P365, P365 XL) and any aftermarket modifications or trigger upgrades that may have been installed. Some aftermarket trigger kits or modifications can reduce the trigger pull weight to around 4 to 5 pounds or even lower.

What is the difference between P365 and XL triggers?

✴️ The primary difference between the triggers of the Sig Sauer P365 and P365 XL lies in their shape and size. While both triggers are designed for the same series of firearms and share similar characteristics, there are some notable distinctions:

  • 🔷 Size and Length: The P365 trigger is smaller and shorter in comparison to the P365 XL trigger. The P365 XL trigger is slightly larger and longer to accommodate the larger frame of the P365 XL pistol.
  • 🔷 Trigger Face: The P365 trigger typically features a curved face, providing a traditional trigger feel. On the other hand, the P365 XL trigger is often designed with a flat face, which can offer a different tactile sensation and potentially allow for a more consistent trigger pull.

❗ It’s important to note that trigger design and specifications can vary depending on the specific generation or variant of the P365 and P365 XL models. Additionally, aftermarket triggers may offer further customization options, such as different shapes or adjustable features, allowing shooters to fine-tune their trigger preferences.

Does the P365 have a double-action trigger?

🤨 No, the Sig Sauer P365 does not have a double-action trigger.

➡️ The P365 is a striker-fired pistol, meaning it has a single-action trigger system. In a striker-fired system, the trigger pulls both cocks and releases the striker or firing pin, resulting in a lighter and typically crisper trigger pull compared to double-action triggers.

  • 🟣 When the P365 is initially fired, the striker is partially cocked, and subsequent trigger pulls complete the cocking action and releases the striker to fire subsequent rounds. This design allows for a consistent trigger pull and shorter reset between shots, which can contribute to improved accuracy and faster follow-up shots.
Is the P365 striker or hammer?

🟩 The Sig Sauer P365 is a striker-fired pistol, not a hammer-fired pistol. In a striker-fired system, the firearm’s trigger directly activates a striker mechanism to strike the primer of the cartridge, initiating the firing sequence.

  • ⏰ The P365 features a striker assembly housed within the slide of the pistol. When the trigger is pulled, it partially cocks and then releases the striker, resulting in the ignition of the round. This design allows for a consistent trigger pull and typically provides a lighter and crisper trigger break compared to a hammer-fired system.
  • Hammer-fired pistols, on the other hand, utilize a hammer that strikes the firing pin to ignite the primer. This mechanism is commonly found in traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) firearms or some variants of semi-automatic pistols.

Conclusion🙂

The best P365 trigger is an essential accessory for any Sig Sauer P365 owner. With the right trigger upgrade, you can take your shooting performance to the next level and enjoy improved accuracy and control over your weapon. We hope this guide has helped you find the perfect trigger upgrade that meets all of your needs. Thanks for reading!🤠👍

I recently acquired a new P365, I’m now considering aftermarket options to improve the trigger, but I’m wondering if all aftermarket upgrades are equally worthwhile, or if there’s only one that stands out as a good choice.

Try to give the trigger a chance by shooting it more. Perhaps after firing around 300 rounds, my opinion might change as the trigger breaks in. Don’t forget to consider the intended purpose of the firearm.

The P365 is my everyday carry (EDC) gun, and I just install new Sig Sauer P365 Trigger Springs and get a very crisp trigger pull and it is reliable work. Maybe try to change the springs before buying a new trigger.

I have a deep appreciation for my P365 pistol, but I must admit that the factory-curved trigger leaves something to be desired. The long pull of the trigger has motivated me to search for a crisper alternative. Could you please provide recommendations on the best trigger upgrade available for the P365? I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

In addition to that, I’ve found that polishing a few internal components or simply shooting the gun extensively can lead to a smoother trigger pull. As a result, I have achieved a decent trigger, albeit slightly heavier than my personal preference.

I’m looking for the best trigger upgrade for my regular P365 pistol. I’m not a fan of the mushy and curved trigger that it comes with. I would appreciate any input or recommendations on this matter. Thank you!

In my experience, I’ve noticed that most of the trigger mush in my regular P365 pistol could potentially be resolved with an aftermarket disconnector. Another option I’ve found is the Sig Sauer Flat Trigger P365 Kit, which offers the ability to adjust the amount of forward and after travel, providing additional customization. Remember to do your research and consider your specific needs and preferences before making a decision.
