There are a few things you’ll need to do to properly disassemble a Glock 42 magazine.
– The first is to make sure that the firearm is unloaded and that there is no ammunition in the chamber.
– Start by gripping the magazine with your thumb and index finger and pushing down on the follower with your middle finger. This will cause the slide lock to protrude from the bottom of the magazine.
– Then, use your thumb to push down on the slide lock and hold it in place while you remove your index finger from the mag. You can now lift the baseplate of the magazine and remove it from the body. Be careful not to lose any of the small parts that come off with it.
– With the baseplate removed, you can now see the magazine spring and follower.
– The next step is to remove the follower by pushing it up and out of the mag body. You may need to use a small tool to help with this, as the spring tension can make it difficult to remove by hand.
– Once the follower is out, you can then remove the magazine spring by simply pulling it out of the mag body.

1. The first step is to remove the floor plate. To do this, depress the button on the left side of the magazine body and slide the floor plate off (it should come off easily).
2. Remove the follower by tilting it slightly and then pulling it out. Be careful not to lose any spring tension.
3. Remove the spring by depressing one end and sliding it out of the slot in the body.

Reassembly is simply the reverse process:
1. Start by inserting the spring, followed by tilting the follower back into place (again, be careful not to lose tension on the spring).
2. Slide the floor plate back on until it locks into place, and you’re done!
– First, make sure that the magazine is unloaded.
– Once you’ve verified that, begin by removing the base plate from the bottom of the magazine. To do this, insert a small flathead screwdriver or another tool into the hole in the base plate and lever it out gently.
– With the base plate removed, you should now be able to see the magazine spring and follower. Carefully remove these components from the magazine body and set them aside.
You can now clean any debris or dirt from inside the magazine body using a small brush or another tool. Once you’re satisfied with its condition, reassemble the magazine by reversing the steps you took to disassemble it.
- First, make sure that the Glock is unloaded.
- Remove the magazine follower and floor plate by depressing the tab on the side of the magazine.
- With those two removed, you can pull out the spring and internal horizontal plastic carrier rod. Be careful when handling the spring, as it is under tension and can cause injury if not handled properly.
- To reassemble, simply reverse the steps outlined above.
1. The first step is to remove the floorplate by pushing on the tab at the front of the magazine and pulling it off.
2. Then, use the screwdriver to depress the retaining pin in the back of the magazine and remove the spring and follower.
That’s it!
- For starters, you’ll need to make sure that the magazine is empty before beginning the process. Once the magazine is confirmed to be empty, you can begin by removing the floor plate.
- To do this, simply push down on the small notch located at the front of the floor plate and slide it off towards the rear. With the floor plate now removed, take a look at the internal workings of the magazine. You should see a spring assembly and a follower located inside.
- The next step is to remove the spring assembly. To do this, grab hold of the baseplate where it meets the magazine tube and pull it out towards the rear. With the spring assembly removed, you can now remove the follower.
- Once the follower is removed, you have successfully disassembled the Glock 42 magazine.
