How to take apart a Glock magazine?

Disassembling a Glock magazine is easy. You will need a small screwdriver and a pointed object, like a pen or paper clip.

First, remove the screws on the bottom of the magazine. Once the screws are removed, pop the bottom of the magazine off. Be careful – there is a spring inside that will shoot out if you’re not careful.

Next, remove the cover plate. To do this, use your screwdriver to pry it up off of the magazine body. Again, be careful – there is another spring under the cover plate that will fly out if you’re not careful.

Finally, remove the inner parts of the magazine by pulling them out from the top. The follower and spring will come out together, and the base plate will come out separately.

Now that you have all of the parts of the magazine separated, you can clean them and reassemble them in the reverse order. Be sure to put the springs in before you replace the cover plate and bottom plate, or they will be very difficult to put back in.
