Always unload a crossbow by following these four simple steps:
1. Remove the bolt from the crossbow.
2. Visually and physically inspect the crossbow to ensure it is unloaded.
3. Orient the crossbow so the bolt hole is pointing down and release the safety mechanism.
4. Hold onto the barrel of the crossbow and slowly pull back on the cocking lever until it stops, then releases it forward again. This will reset the trigger assembly.
Do not allow anyone to handle your crossbow or any of its parts until you have verified it is unloaded. Always keep the crossbow pointed in a safe direction, even when you are certain it is unloaded.
When unloading a crossbow, always use an arrow puller to remove the arrows. Never use your hands. The risk of injury is too great.
Always point the crossbow in a safe direction when unloading. Never unload the crossbow in a standing position. Always kneel and stabilize the crossbow with one hand.
Unload the crossbow by depressing the cocking lever and pulling it back until it locks into place. This will deplete the bow of any potential energy.
Withdraw each arrow from the bow one at a time using an arrow puller, being careful not to let them fall off of the tips of the arrows.
Inspect each arrow for damage before reuse. Replace any damaged or missing components before using the crossbow again.
Never try to repair a damaged arrow.
Always consult your Owner’s Manual for specific unloading instructions for your model of the crossbow.
Always unload a crossbow by removing the bolt from the barrel. Never point a crossbow at anything you don’t intend to shoot. Never hand a loaded crossbow to another person.
To unload a crossbow, pull back on the cocking mechanism until it is fully cocked. Then, use your free hand to reach in and remove the bolt from the barrel. Finally, release the cocking mechanism and let the crossbow return to its original position. Now, your crossbow is unloaded and safe to handle.
Always unload a crossbow before you transport it. The safest way to unload a crossbow is to use a cocking device or rope to pull the bolt back and hold it in place. Then, point the crossbow in a safe direction and release the bolt. Never try to unload a crossbow by hand.
- Always keep the bow pointed in a safe direction, preferably at the ground.
- Make sure the safety is on and hold the bow with both hands.
- Disengage the safety and slowly pull back on the cocking lever until it stops. This will relieve pressure on the arrow and allow you to remove it from the bow.
- Finally, release the lever and let it return to its original position.
